Hey whats up
My name B1gBob (Bob)
I'm 47years in the making, 10 of which was serving Uncle Sam's Military (U.S. Army) along with 27years serving my Boss the Mrs. B1gBob and Boss II my daughter who's now 23 and graduating from collage soon. I hope$$$!
I often wish I was closer to the age of retirement so I can spend more time playing golf and poker But since the Misses lacks a since of humor for ether activity, I don't see this happening to soon.
Golf (10hcp), is my first love, (after the Mrs. B1gBob of course) But, I love to play poker too, all types of games but mostly Hold em.
For me, like golf, I see poker as a relaxing activity I take the game as I take life in general, serious yet laid back, competitive yet keeping it real.
My Interests are :
Golf / Poker are my hobbies. At least until someone can show me the way to become a pro while still being able to put food on the table.
(The B1gBob Family gots to eat.) Love the B-B-Q UMMM UMMM UMMM and Pasta... forget about it!!
The Family and I are huge Sports Fans, Baseball / Football / Softball / NCCA Basketball Racing everything and anything.
But, I'm the only New England Patriots Fan, in the family. The rest of the family (In-Laws) are all Pittsburgh Steelers fans! (Urg!! That's what happens when you marry a Pittsburgh Girl.)
But we (the wife and kid and I) are Big, NO! Huge Red Sox fans... GO SOX!!!!!!!!
For work I’m Outside Plant Systems Maintenance Technician (Cable Guy). But I also officiate sports professionally for the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA).
For the past 20yrs, as a tournament circuit official/Umpire I have done all levels of play from the E level to the Major's all up and down the East Coast for the adult Men's/Woman's Fast/Slow Pitch Softball Program, as well as league play in surrounding towns here in Central Massachusetts.
As for music, I’m very much a laid back kind of guy, so keep it is slow and easy so the Misses and I can cuddle up and rub our noses together.
My name is Ron, and I throughly enjoy well played single tournaments, mostly sit-n-go when I have the time.
I first learned to play poker in a bunker during the Viat Nam Conflict as a way to cope and as a distraction to the surroundings... I have been playing poker socially for over 40 years and just started playing on-line a few years back.
Online poker was quite an adjustment for me and so was the game Texas Holdum which I had seen on TV and was facinated with. I invested $50 and lost it before I learned how to operate the software...
i bounced around for a while, got booted from a few rooms when there was a legislation crack-down, loosing a little money at each room.
So I backed the 'Beep Beep' truck up and bought a few books and sought the advise of other poker players and reeducated myself so that I could compete with the 'now generation' of on-line poker playing.
I'm retired now and much of my day is spent enjoying playing poker at Poker Stars, win some, lose some.....
I don't have any asperations of being a "Poker Star" or professional, but I work on my game because I want to be proficient.... as in anything I do. along with that comes some success....
I think Eric "Rizen" Lynch refered me here because I was asking too many questions! I anjoy the social aspects of poker playing as well as the actual card shuffling, and that is what brings me here.... to learn and have a little fun as well...
