Hi all

My name is debra,I'm 30,single and i play poker everyday either live or online. so many choices.Before going pro I worked at Eli Lilly(pharmacutical company) I have played poker all my life growing up with my family. Playing Poker full time is something that I always wanted to do. All my friends think I am crazy. Being my own boss is what I love about this great job, I currently reside in Indpls Indiana
and I play live poker at the hollywood casino in lawernceburg Indiana, This casino is owned by the hollywood casino in vegas. this is a brand new casino and is the largest in the world which can hold 9000 people.The poker room has 41 tables with room for 100. when I am not playing live poker I am playing online at UB/AP. For now I only play at UB/AP. when I am not playing poker I enjoy going to the beach,hiking,horseback riding,shopping, yard sales,flea markets also I really love going to the movies.

PERSONAL

I suppose I should introduce myself here. Name is Anthony, married since 2005 with no children (and no plans for them, a cat is enough!)

Currently reside in Massachusetts, but want to move to North Carolina in a year or two.

GOING PRO

In December of 2005 I became semi-pro with poker, focusing on cash games and testing my results to see if I could make the switch.

My bread and butter at this time was Party Poker with rakeback, and I mostly played Omaha hi/lo full-ring limit poker tables.

By September 2006 I had quit my job working for "the man" because it was costing me money whenever I punched in (i.e. I made more playing poker)

Of course, 2 months later the UIGEA was enacted and Party Poker was yanked out from under me!

I had to adjust, and focused mostly on Full Tilt and Pokerstars for my online gambling, and also played live at Foxwoods Casino in CT.

NOW

Today I consider myself back to semi-pro status, because I'm so heavily involved in this business. I've been working on this PokerNations concept since 2008. I had thought my idea was original, but discovered MANY other people had tried to build a social network aimed at poker players.

The problem was, none of them had really succeeded. Sure, there were some with decent sized memberships, but the quality of the content on those networks was pretty thin.

The members just weren't engaged to actively involve themselves with blogs, forum posts and so forth. And most of the content that was there was of lower quality, because the vast majority of members on these other networks were people hunting to play freerolls.

So I analyzed what other companies were doing right and wrong, and built my own business plan for this project. I started approaching people in the industry, picked up investors and partners and here we are.

I'm confident that within 4-5 years PokerNations will be one of the most heavily trafficked and prominent gambling-focused websites in the world. So I'm glad to have so many awesome fans of the game as a part of this community, and I look forward to building something truly great with all of you!

Im 22, married & believe it or not i ave 4 kids I have only really discovered what the hell was causing it but heh lifes a learning game lol nah i love em really. Work im the highest honours in Search engine marketing no doubt you will all know what one of them are as the web seems to be spammed full now a days, im one of the ones to have paper backing my qualifications tho lol

On the poker side iv only ever took a care free look at it, i try to enjoy it & not let it rule my life in terms of trying to make a living, anyway thats me in a few lines

Hi, My name is Chad, and Im an alcoholic.. oh wait, this isnt AA is it??

     well My name is Chad, AKA Chato15..   Im from the Central Valley in Cali, been here since I was 16.. The first 16 years of my Life I lived in Salinas, CA.. Most of you probably never heard of it, but its about 10 mins away from Monterey..   So basically im a born and bred Cali-Kid!!

      Im currently working in the "Prune Business" lol, but yea I really do for Sunsweet.. Look in almost every supermarket/grocery store and I can almost guarentee youll find "Sunsweet Prunes" there along with some other dried fruit products.. been there for the last 3 years, well kinda, most people that work there are only there for about 1 - 1 1/2 months during the busy time of year, harvest season.. I, too, also started out working only then too.. 1st in 2000, then 2004, then I went back in 2007, started during the season and ended up staying until around Nov. close to Thanksgiving before being laid off.. then in 2008 I got called back in the middle of June.. Then this year got called back even earlier, Mar. 2nd.. and they way things are looking now, i just may end up what they call full-time, Jan - Nov.. The Plant closes for everyone in Dec.. so enough of that stuff!!

     I have 1 child an 8 year old son, named Alan.. He means the world to me!! But his mom, now thats a different story!!

      I have been playing poker for many years with family and friends. we used to play for pennies all the time.. but mainly just for fun.. Then I came across this thing called Online- Poker, even still i play for small stakes.. I have never made a deposit, but sometimes I win a few cents playing in freerolls... i played an any and all freerolls that I was able to get the password for.. yea Im one of those people AJ was talking about in his intro..

      One Day I happened to run across a private freeroll tourney that was being put on by RakeReport.net... so I went to the site and registered and went on a search for the password, which i never did find... And the Admin of the site, short in stature, who seems to like Big, Hard, Weina jokes informed me that I had to make something like 50 posts in the forums to be eligible for the freerolls they hosted.. so i went to town and started making posts... This was the first poker forums site that I had ever posted with.. was already registered on Railbirds, but was only there for the passwords... back then all you had to do was sign up and you automatically recieved the passwords, so i never posted there for like 2 years...   but for some reason RakeReport had me!! was the nicest bunch of people I had ever seen in a poker site..   wonder whatever happened to the Admin there???

     Im no pro in poker, but I do have some skills and have been learning still from all those people at RakeReport... i consider the majority of them guys and gals real friends, even though we only communicate on the net... real good people!!

    so basically I play poker for fun, maybe win some money, maybe not...

    Well I suppose thats about enough for my intro, I dont believe I have a ever posted this big of a post in a thread before...   I must be sick or something..

     I hope to get to know as many people as I can here at PokerNations, and help out in any way that I may be needed...

Greetings and salutations to all! A lot of people in the poker affiliate community already know me well. For everyone else - screw you!

Just kidding! You'll find that I have a strange sense of humor. Anyway, I'm in my 30's from Canada eh? I'm a poker affiliate and poker player. Hey everyone,

Most affiliates know me from the forums. I own several sites including ThePokerkeep.com, PokerOnYourMac.com and my signature site, No Bull Rakeback.

I play on FT, Stars, Doyle's and a few other sites... small stakes, usually tournies and SnG's. These days it's all I can do to fit a quick SnG into my schedule.

I'm a happily married father of 4 - 3 girls and a boy (god help me!!). We have 5 grandchildren (4 boys and a girl). In addition to running a bunch of poker portals, I'm in the property management business.

I'm looking forward to making new friends and watching Poker Nations grow into the world class community that Anthony has envisioned.

I'm Harley and I'm a member of the Community Team here. I'm 25 and in between majors in college. I was a culinary dude, but it wasn't the dream. These days, I'm a sports broadcasting major. Maybe one of these days, I'll call your World Series Of Poker win on ESPN.

I am the class clown and a recovering rant machine. I don't play poker while I'm in school, but when I'm not I'm usually grinding freerolls or micro poker, taking the occasional (read as: foolish) big shot. I'm an easy-going guy who has a lot to offer new and experienced players alike and, as the banner notes, I'm the father of modern post whoring 'round these parts. Project: Post Whore was birthed in an effort to spam my way to the arbitrary 100-post mark. It boomed into Post and Thread of the Year and I attained my useless Internet celebrity. :P

Anyways, hello there to all of you. My name's Troy, but you can call me Advent, too. I'm 20 years old and am living in Vancouver, BC, Canada, home of next year's Olympic games. Can't say I like all the construction that's been going on everywhere I look, but what it's turned into or will turn into is looking pretty good so far.

I've been playing poker with real money since summer of '07 -- give another year before that -- so about two (or three) years now. My main focus since then has been 6-max and heads-up NLHE, but I've also learned to play and hope to further develop my skills in PLO, LO/8, Razz, and 7-2 SD. Lost a lot of money, but also learned a lot every time. So, while I'm busto right now, I'm hoping that, the next time I deposit, I can be disciplined enough to really make something of my investment this time around.

For now, I've been going to college as I started my first semester of school this summer, and have also been passively studying chess and playing the occasional game of mahjong whenever I'm not spending time with family and friends. I took a philosophy course titled "Ethical, Social, and Political Philosophy" this past semester, and have used the knowledge I gained from it to start a philosophical-hybrid sort of poker blog, which you can find here.

With that said, I welcome all new members and hope you enjoy your time here. No, really, I do!

Hey!
Im Matt, I live in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada - small "city" just north of Calgary. Im 30 years old and have to young daughters (4 and 2). I work full time for an airline, Im an IT guy by trade.

I had been playing poker on and off my whole life, mostly the silly variations of it. I only started taking it seriously about 2 years ago. I played play money for awhile prior to that, then some freerolls and managed to build a tiny bankroll from it. Ive built it up from there inch by inch while improving my game. My play now compared to a year a go is so much better and I hope to keep that trend up. I have never deposited a dime into poker from my own pocket. I now play on Party Poker, Full Tilt, Stars and a little on UB/AP/cake network, I play more than a recreationlist but really have no plans to turn pro anytime soon hehehe.

Im obsessed by poker, I basically only read poker books when I read, I read a few forums and watch a bunch of vids. I want to keep learning and soak up as much info as anyone is willing to give hehe.

I am sixandfour.

I'm a paradox amongst poker enthusiasts. I am a strat poster and at the same time a post whore. I'm from the "great White North" and drink Southern Comfort. I play regularly at $3/6 IRL but dislike playing online for the most part. I made my way to AJ's last venture because I flamed his ad post on FTP Forum, and now my post count there dwarfs my FTP forum count. Ironically enough, flaming is almost nonexistent in his communities, and yet a sometimes volatile mouth as mine is found a home amongst the more peacable and less self-absorbed forumers there. And now I get to be a part of this one right from the start.

All that must be known of me is in my profile, and in asking me. I've got a story or two about my poker life, but it doesn't fit well in an intro thread. Perhaps I'll autobio sometime, but it seems a daunting task to fit the rollercoaster of my beginnings in this game into an intro thread.

I'm glad to meet you all. I'm a bit of a smartass at times, but I like just about anyone smart enough to find themselves in these forums. Glad to meet you all.

Hmmm I haven't decided if I'm here to meet women, improve at poker or just have a good time Wait! I can accomplish all three!

K so a little about me. I'm a work hard play hard type. Very protective of family & friends. My family has a villa in Italy that I visit often. I'm told I can be a bit of a Casanova for any interested ladies (no Chato you don't qualify as a lady) I consider myself very spontaneous and love to joke around and have fun.

On the poker side of things I'm working out a few leaks in my mtt game but have done very well so far. No major finishes yet but made several final tables. I'm decent with sngs but My cash game needs a lot of work.

I am one of the holdovers from Rakereport so there will be several inside jokes that only a few people will understand.

Look forward to making amazing new friends & getting better at this game I love - Marco (Warbuff)

Hi All -

Happy to be part of your community. I am realtor/accountant in Arizona. I play every day on Full Tilt, but it is just a diversion.

My husband and I are part of a free poker league that plays in bars around our town. That is mainly a social outlet, as the play is horrendous, for the most part. I love Las Vegas, but during the last few trips, my luck was not good, despite solid play.

I love to play PLO and that's where you will find me on-line. No real chances to play this live, so low money SnGs do the trick.

I love to read poker books and am a big fan of PAD. Most of you here seem to be professional and play for lots more money than I am willing. It's really just a fun hobby, but I am always trying to improve my game. I look forward to reading about all of you!

Well.... I was born at a very young age... but as time went on... I got older
I'm 63 years old , been married for 39 years, ( although it only feels like 45) and I have three rug rats.... AJ being the middle one..... ( now you know why he's like he is!) The oldest is a boy and the youngest is a girl......

I've had a veried background..... I retired after 34 years in the fire service, but have also been a special police officer, private investigator, one of the very first nationally registered EMT's in the State of Massachusetts, a registered Locksmith, musician, a senior correspondent for a national newspaper, and an award winning professional photographer, to name just a "few" of the things I've been involved with.... Oh... and I'm a vietnam era vet.... never was in country though... they sent my ass to Korea instead......

Then of course... being Italian... there were all those trumped up charges.... but lets not focus on any of those right now

Anyway... I started playing cards back when I was about 13 years old.... back then we played for cigarettes.... Now I can't even buy a pack of cigarettes with my winnings !
Friggin' taxes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm doing better with slots now...!! Especially the dollar and five dollar machines !

I'm proud of my sons accomplishments and I'm here to support him......
Being retired.... I don't have to worry about going to a job everyday.... I get to do whatever I want....... Uhmmmmm with the wife's permission of course !

My name is George im gona be 21 in september :) my life is just begining to make sence ...
I always wanted to be a Jet Fighter Pilot but i realized that if i joined i woldant be able to raise a family do to the hars conditions of the contract ...
I like to work with people ^_^ when i see them happy im happy and that makes me work harder.
I guess thats why i love this crazy site :P
The people here are so comunicative dont know why but i love it here ^_^
If worked in a 4 star hotel till a few days back when i left that crappy job it was respectable but they screwed me out of alot of money ....
Long story short (Some people are to damn greede)
Now im far far far away from home visiting my soul mate .

Wish this life woldant be so damn hard .. :(
Anyway thats some of my life hope you guys have it better then me :P

High, I'm steve (aka fefimo but you prolly got that part). 42 years young and married (still tryin to get the wife to move to Utah so takin applications for wife 2,3 and 4. For all you naysayers I gots one word for ya VIAGRA.)

I play nlhe badly but rakeback fridays allows me to continue doing so. Sort of a contractor (mostly flooring) but with these tough times I ugh took a contract with the uni to maintain 400 dorms and eventually redo them.

I like long walks on the beach and candlelight dinners,traveling ,the occational beer and horizontal mamba.(this part is just for the above said applicants)

Ya wanna know anything else feel free to ask I'm not shy.

Hi,

I am Jeffrey "JGB146" Blake. I have played poker seriously since 2004. In mid 2006 I had the incredible opportunity to get coaching from Eric "Rizen" Lynch, which was one of a handful of events in my history to progress my poker development and poker career by leaps and bounds.

Since 2007, I have been the driving force behind the low stakes poker training site Grinderschool.com. For most of 2009 (save the WSOP!) my play has been geared exclusively toward prepping for GS videos. I do expect that to change soon, as new opportunities are creating more time for me to play.

I also have a day job as a software developer at a local IT company.

The International is a private members club in the heart of London set up by a group of likeminded players of skill based games such as chess, backgammon, bridge and mainly poker. As a group we believe what we require is not adequately catered for by existing clubs or gaming/casino venues.

We have over 4000 registered members and that number is growing rapidly. With 400 capacity tournaments and everything from £50 to £1,000 buy-ins, huge prizepools will be generated in events covering Holdem, Omaha and H.O.R.S.E.

It's great to be part of an online community with likeminded members, play it safe!

Hello all,

I am Michael "Merch" Reed. I have been playing poker since early 2006 when I became unemployable due to my arthritis. I have been working on improving my game (unsuccessfully up to this point) since mid/late 2006. It is difficult for me to watch videos online because I am constantly changing my focus on other things while I should be watching the video and trying to learn from it.

I have been playing more ring games than tourneys as of late since I can get 10-12 tables going at once that manage to keep my attention since there is constantly something going on. I am considering a run for Supernova next year and then possibly going for Supernova elite in 2011.

Other than that stuff, I am an avid football (thats american football) fan, and more importantly a college football fan, GO DAWGS (UGA)!!

My long term goals are to travel the world to play more live poker and to just enjoy life to the fullest every day.
