[600NL] - Is my river shove too big to get called?

Villain is a fish, but does he really call my shove with Ax here? My shove pretty much reps strong J or boat. Only draw that got there was backdoor flush too. Are my flop/turn bets too small?

Villain (SB) $1,045.00

Hero is dealt: JJ

Hero raises to $21, 3 fold, Villain calls $18, BB calls $15

Flop ($63): AJJ

Villain checks, BB checks, Hero bets $42, Villain calls $42, BB folds

Turn ($147): 9

Villain checks, Hero bets $105, Villain calls $105

River ($357): 5

Villain bets $178.50, Hero raises all-in $768.60

On the flop you bet 66% of the pot. On the turn you bet 71% of the pot. So seems ok to me there.

When you shove the river the pot becomes $1,304 and Villian has to call $590, so he's getting 2.2 to 1 on his call there. Not sure how else you can play this to maximize return

i really like the shove there alot. looks like you are trying to push out with a small flush and hopefully he has a big flush and you get paid huge. with you betting out the whole way he can't possibly put you on a boat.

wow, that's a pretty disciplined laydown with the K-high flush there getting more than 2:1 on a call of your shove

Calvin, if you're villian there, do you fold the flush to the river shove?

I like the shove, definitely the optimal play imo, but I don't see you getting any more action on the river there. His bet on the river is obviously supposed to shut u down, and when that doesn't occur its hard to call with just a flush there with all the strength u shown. You're not repopping with a weaker flush or a naked Jack so unless he thinks you'd bluff in this spot yeah hand over lol.

You mean raise 2/3 of the pot? Pretty sure that's decently close to a shove -- like, ~$500 total.

I am on board with the shove here, too. If he hasn't figured out he's beat by then, he may call.

Interesting lay down if he is calling to draw to the flush, gets what he wants and then dumps it. If he puts you on drawing to the ace high flush, why would he continue to call? Or what? You made the boat on the river with J5? I guess he could have thought you had a set and he was looking for the inside straight. Hmmm......
