  Woke up bright and early and hit Foxwoods only to discover an already in progress Omaha hi/lo game that had been running ALL NIGHT!
  
  Yee-fucking-haw baby!  I love finding players who've been there since midnight (or later) and are tired, drunk, stuck, etc.
  
  There were easily 5 soft spots in the game, including one guy who was hyperaggressive.  Almost every hand he'd raise and just keep betting until the river.
  
  He kept getting felted and pulling hundreds out and rebuying, although he went on a heater later in the session and scooped a ton of kill pots to overtake even my substantial stack.
  
  I bought in for $400 (used to buy in for $200, but having more chips in front of me makes me feel good).  I won a number of big pots myself throughout the session, and was up around $160 pretty early.
  
  Had a few rough patches, one where I flopped the nut flush draw, turned the nut low draw and bricked on the river in a pretty big pot.
  
  Another where the maniac limped in with A5KQ and three 's and one other limper, I find A3A9 and raise it up.  Unfortunately there was no narrowing the field against this lineup, and I got a few callers.
  
  Flop came 359 rainbow and the maniac check-called.  Why?  Who fucking knows, his low is counterfietted and he has zero draws.  Turn was a brick, maybe a J?  River was another fucking 5.  Fortunately he checked it down, the guy on my left who called to the river also had 2349 and bricked out as well.
  
  When both players checked I thought for sure my Aces up were good, then the maniac shows his 5 and it kinda tilted me a bit to lose that pot, think it was already a kill pot (so playing at the 6/12 betting limits) and I hated to see him scoop another monster pot when I had his face crushed and he should be folding on the flop like 112% of the time.  
  
  Still, if it wasn't for him pumping up all the different pots, I wouldn't have done so well.  In 5 hours I cleared a profit of $238.
  
  He racked up to leave and the pots immediately went from good sized ($60+ easily most every pot, and tons in the $80-$120 range, hell, we had a $200+ pot scooped once) to pathetic (lots of the bad players had already left and been replaced by grumpy old men who were content to have $6 pots where $2 of that goes to the rake, lol.
  
  Oh, another nice hand I had AAxx and raised and got a few callers and the flop was something like 39J and some guy with JJxx slowplayed (he shouldn't have called preflop anyway, but whatever) and the turn was an Ace and we got it CAPPED! (including the maniac who had a flush draw and low draw and maybe a straight draw) and the river was the beautiful case Ace, but the JJxx guy only check-called and I scooped a nice pot.
  
  The maniac was a nice guy though, so I chatted him up quite a bit, and his super aggression would sometimes allow him to secure half the pot by pushing out someone with a better high or low, since he made it so expensive constantly.
  
  It also allowed me to make a ton of really thin calls on the river against him to scoop pots when I was drawing and missed, but still had a hand with some showdown value given how he would pretty much never check when checked to, and always bet and take down pots against people with missed draws.
  
  So on a board of J8xxJ when he bet the river I was able to call him with KKxx and he was like "I have an 8....." and I scooped a nice one there too.  A lot of the regular rocks in the game couldn't understand how I was making these calls so thinly, since they're used to playing against other grumpy old men who are often showing down the nuts.
  
  So it was a hell of a session and made me feel much better about myself, since the past couple of weeks have been a bit rough.  Going to get some rest and maybe check it out later tonight.

  maybe in a strat session, someone can dicuss the "kill pot" concept for newer players, and people who play less cash games and more tourney.
  
  It's easy to look up of course, but might be helpful to people in the current poker environment.

  Omaha hi/lo is generally a split-pot game, where someone wins the high half and someone wins with the low hand.
  
  On occassion, one player will scoop the pot.  They may have the best high and low hand possible without someone also having the same high or low, or there may only be a high hand and they have it.
  
  Usually a kill pot occurs when one player scoops a pot that is at least 10 times the size of the big blind.  So in a 5/10 limit game, a $100 pot scooped by one player would initiate a kill, if there is one for that game.
  
  There are half-kills (in my 4/8 game the action jumps to 6/12 for the next hand, but only stays that way if there is another kill) and full kills (a 5/10 game would jump to 10/20 for the next hand)
  
  Also, I remember the hand in question now:
  
  Me:  A3A9
  Maniac:  A5QK
  Grumpy Old Man:  2349
  
  Flop was 359
  Turn T
  River 5
  
  
  Preflop:  53% equity favorite against the two hands
  Flop:  23% equity
  Turn:  36% equity
  
  So postflop the guy with 2349 (who shouldn't have been calling preflop after I raised since he should know I do this with AAxx and A23x type holdings that would usually have him in rough shape) was actually the favorite to win the hand.

  You ever seen a Pot Limit H/L game at a casino Anthony? I like that game a lot more than limit but have only been able to find it online.

  PL Omaha h/l is such an easy game to stack off in  that it's hard to keep a game going for very long. I'd be surprised to see it run anywhere other then in Vegas....

  Surprisingly Foxwoods has been seeing some 1/2 PLO8 action going. I don't know how big the pots are though or how many players they're getting. And it's not my speciality, so I haven't tried it.

  Man, there was one massive hand against the maniac I thought for sure I was going to scoop. Playing shorthanded and on the turn I have the wheel plus the 2nd nut flush and he had the nut flush to split the pot (the Ace of hearts was on the board)
  
  That was pretty bogus, because I was psyched I was going to scoop a massive pot (since he was the type to push a non-nut flush really hard and what are the chances in a short handed game he's going to happen to have me beat for high there?)
  
  Was a wild time though. I'm heading back next week for their Memorial Day Weekend celebration. Sat-Mon they'll award 5 grand every 30 minutes from 10am-8pm and 50 grand at 8pm to people who swipe their card that day.
  
  That should bring out a ton of recreational players, bumping up the profitability of the games and of course I'll have a small shot at being picked for one of those prizes too.
