I guess that's the great debate --- does a classic have to have some time behind it? or can a movie be an instant classic? I agree Forest Gump of course is a "must see" though.

I know they remade it recently -- even in my home town area -- but this was a classic to me growing up.

It's a great movie AJ if you like Crime Dramas. and it's a true story-- of course with some artisitc latittude.

For some reason everytime this is on during the weekend, I watch at least some of it. Especially during the colder months. The re-make blows BTW -- and it's really not a re-make.

Not a movie for kids -- but a great movie -- I saw this as still an Indy film back in college -- then it got re-released. Along with Pulp Fiction, probably Tarantino's best. (and first)

I actually liked all 3 -- the first was the best -- but probably because of the fresh idea. However I did like the whole triology -- granted the last one did go total "Jesus".

The 2nd matrix film was a confusing mess and the 3rd imo was absolute garbage. First was great of course. I did enjoy throughout the series how Agent Smith seemed to be the human one, with his emotional outbursts, while Neo came across as more machine in his demeanor.

Ok, I am pretty much with you all on classics....and since the subject was raised: Remakes...what do you think....I absolutely hate remakes pretty much...I have not seen one that even compares to the original...a recent attempt that I can think of is The Women....

Holiday classic: White Christmas, I am a sucker for sappy musicals :)

I'm pretty much on the same page about re-makes. And, kinda always wondered is there no writing talent in Hollywood anymore?? or is it just cheaper to buy and use an existing script?

I can't really think of a remake better than the orinigal.

Believe or not, last christmas was the first time I ever saw this - and I enjoyed it.
