After almost 8 hours of play I got knocked out from the BB vs SB limper w 210s on a 8810 board. I was short stacked for a very very long time and shoved the 20k bet on this board to 65K allin and ran into J8o. My first instinct was to shove preflop as that was what my gut was telling me and I didn't do it...oh well hindsight is 20/20. The blinds were 5k/10k with 1k antes.
There was an extremely disappointing hand in this tournament that I misplayed badly. I called a minimum raise with 7s in the BB. The flop came 345 and I bet out for 2800 and called a raise to 8K (blinds were 2800 and my bet was very weak). Then I check/called a bet of 16K on a J turn with the intention of taking away the pot if the river card was one that would make my story believable.
At this stage we were about 200 players from the money and I had 140K to start the hand and my opponent had me covered by 30K.
The turn came an Ace. My thinking was that this was a perfect card to bluff the river and my intention was to bet 40K into the 60K pot. But as I was going to make my bet I was thinking that maybe I could bet somewhat less and still get away with it. I had typed in 4000 meaning to add another 0 to the end but the timer was going so I was hurrying and accidentally clicked 4000 as the bet. Duh.......My instincts were right as my opponent had J10o and after I typed in misclick he said 'whew, I'm glad because I'm not sure I would have called much more'.
Difference of 80k in this pot ...../sigh.....
Another lesson learned through a mistake.
