  Played yesterday 1/2nlh. Made and grand total of 26.00 for the day. At least didn't lose anything. Well. I lost 100.00 but, got it all back In with 200. out with 226.00 not a good day.  but, here is the strange thing. next to me was a nice young guy . kinda cute and next to him in the 7st seat was an old guy.
  
  The old guy nudges the young guy.  Pulls his waist belt open and points to his (open belt). The young guy practically goes into shock, the women in the 10th seat drops her jaw. I looked at her and wonder what the hell is going on.  The old guy gets up and leaves. Both the young guy and women talk about this bizare happening.  The old guy comes back. Starts to get slighly nasty and leaves for good about 20min later.
  
   I'm thinking to myself this room is getting weird. than 2 chineses people sit down and the dealer screams at them constantly for talking in chinese. Now the dealer is down right nasty, and he is not nice to anyone. He's got fire in his eyes most of the time. He pisses off a new guy that has just sat down after the old man left.
  
   The 2 chinese don't dare to breath at this point let alone speak.. Me I'm tring to smile and be  happy.  I ain't crossing this dealer no way, no how.  He seems Ok towards me even a little nice. but, the rest of the table is ****ting bricks cuz he is going after them if they so much as breaths. Very stressful and bizare. Another day at the grind.... Maybe I'll take up painting or writing or I know I'll make a flower garden........

  Sounds like they need to get rid of a dealer or two and clean up their customers a little too.

  Unfortunately it's not as simple as ditching a dealer or two. At Foxwoods all the dealers pool their tips and split them. So there's no incentive for anyone to stand out from the crowd.
  
  If you're an awesome dealer, all your hard work isn't rewarded because you have to split your tips with the dealers that do an awful job. So you're essentially subsidizing the lazy or incompetent (think Capitalism vs. Communism comparison)
  
  At Mohegan Sun, the dealers get to keep their own tips, and I've found their staff to be less prone to making mistakes and happier as well.

  Splitting the tips or not - Foxwoods sounds like it needs a clean out.

  Well, you also have to consider the size of Foxwoods poker room, which is much larger than most places. I believe they have upwards of 100 tables in there, so with volume you're always going to encounter issues.
  
  I do agree, however, that they should make a number of changes. Unfortunately, they don't have a lot of competition (Mohegan Sun being pretty much it for poker) and thus don't "need" to go out of their way to keep players really happy, because they have the action that people will put up with less than stellar service

  Possibly.  I believe their dealers are unionized in some fashion, so not sure the procedures in place to remove anyone.
  
  I do know in the past some dealers argued to not split tips, but there were too many old-timers that opposed it.  I suppose some people get comfortable and content with providing medoicre service and don't want to have to actually know how to deal properly to earn their tips, they prefer to just siphon those off from the good dealers.
  
  I prefer to play at Mohegan based on their service, staff and the layout of the room is much more inviting.  That being said, I generally play at Foxwoods due to game selection.  I prefer games like Omaha hi/lo, Razz, Stud 8, etc and generally Mohegan is all NL Hold em cash games.

  Anthony is right . Its the only game in town, cept for Mohegan. The dealers have always been less than stellar at Foxwoods. When i first start to play poker way back, playing 7card stud, This one dealer was just awful to me. I went to the pit boss of course they didn't even bother to talk to the dealer. So I went to another table. And left when his rotation came up. I have been treated better at the registry.We all know how they are. I did make two friends at the desk where u sign up and they have been wonderful to me. They even put me on top if there is a list of course they are women. We stick together lolololol.
  
  Some dealers go so fast that u don't enjoy the game, do u think they care NO.Some dealers snap at u if u say something like wow u sure that isn't a split pot. (Quote from dealer ) I'm a professional dealer I know that its not a split pot....... Geesh, gimme a break I didn't see it he was mucking everything in site . If you play at Fox you better develop a thick skin .Against the dealers.lololol.......

  Well, not ALL the dealers are bad. I've met some great ones. For me, I prefer a dealer who knows how to manage the game (playing Omaha hi/lo with split pots, I encounter a lot of dealers that are only used to hold em and keep messing up).
  
  I also like the dealer to keep the game flowing, I want to get in a volume of hands for the game I play. O8 tends to be slower than Hold Em, because of the split pot nature plus the age of the average player being older. So anything the dealer can do to be efficient and keep the game moving is a plus for my hourly rate.
  
  And while I enjoy a friendly dealer, if you get one that's TOO chatty, it detracts from their focus on keeping the game moving.
