Long-ass day. Trade show was absolute mayhem, super busy for us and busted my ass trying to keep our displays stocked with product.
Hot as hell inside as well with so many bodies moving around and little from the air conditioning.
They had a VERY goofy setup for food as well. They had a food court, but very little offered there. Then another area labeled Concessions where you had to go if you wanted something like a burger, chicken fingers, fries, hot dogs, etc.
At the main food court they had a carving station and then pre-packaged sandwiches. So anyway, you had to go to a completely different end of the trade show floor to get certain foods, and then schlep back to the main food court to find a place to sit.
Plus, both locations were cash only, no credit cards.
Anyway, long day, wound up having dinner at the buffett. Luckily my work paid for it, there was 5 of us and the buffett cost us $160!!!!
After dinner I hit the poker room and got on the list for 1/2 NL, was busier than Monday. While I was waiting I spied a game with maybe 7-8 players in it, looked like a Stud table. A few guys wound up leaving and around that time I got a closer look and realized they were playing Omaha hi/lo!
Turned out it was an O.E. game (omaha hi/lo and stud hi/lo rotated). It was $7.50/$15 betting, which was a bit higher than I was expecting to play, but how could I pass up my two favorite games?
Three hours later I had managed to split a whopping ONE pot, and left down $150 for the night.
My final hand was Stud8 and one guy in EP came in for a raise, I re-raised with AK in the hole and an Ace on the board. A third player with a 5 showing three-bet and the original raiser (also with a low card) just called.
I wound up getting protection from the three-better later when he pushed the other guy out, but by the river I had not improved my hand and he had made two pair, 8's and 4's to scoop me.
Tomorrow is going to be a LONG day. Trade show until 4pm, then we have to break everything down and pack it for shipping. Then eat something for dinner and drive 4+ hours home. Probably won't be online at all except for maybe early in the morning, unless I manage to find time to whip out my lap top at the trade show and find a wireless spot (I think they have one)
