I have a couple of out-of-the-ordinary stories to share, one from a casino and one from a home game.
OLD GUYS SUCK @ CHEATING
Playing 10/20 limit 7-card stud at Foxwoods and watch a hand unfold where two elderly "gentlemen" (term used extremely loosely) who are friends have a guy stuck between them during the hand.
On 7th street one of the old guys lifts his hole cads up (still pointed facedown) and starts shuffling them above the table, high enough for his buddy across from him to peek. And they aren't doing it in a hidden manner.
The old guy who is peeking is physically leaning across and down on the table, trying to get a look (to see that his buddy made the straight on the last card)
Another guy next to me notices this as well and speaks up, and I join in. The old guy shuffling tells us to mind our business, we aren't in the hand. The dealer doesn't get involved, but the old guys realize they're caught and stop doing it moving forward.
Worst cheaters I've ever seen, lol
HOME GAME LUCKSACK!
In a home game one guy who's very LAG raises with junky cards (24 offsuit I think) and gets barely minraised by another guy who holds pocket 8's so he calls.
The flop comes 248 and all the chips go in. Turn is a 4.......river a 4 and the guy with bottom two pair cracks top set. The chances of him winning here are less than 1% and he pulled it out!
One night in Vegas both Lori and I played in a Ceasar's tourney. I busted out early -- I think that was the night I busted out first and second in the same tourney. Good times lol.
But I stayed around in the poker room to rail-bird Lori. No one minded. And I really said nothing, just watched the play, and of course hoped Lori did well. She ended up being the bubble girl.
We went on to just chill and get some food -- I thought everything was fine, and that night it was.
Until the next morning. . .
We were talking about the last night's tourney. And she blamed me. Said I made her nervous by milling about. I was not amused. But kept my cool and said "fine".
She wanted to play in a tourney at Harrah's -- it was in the afternoon. I don't usually like to play during the day. So I passed. Especially since she got mad at me about the night before. I needed time to chill.
I got some food, and then just was resting in the room as she played.
Screw it, she didn't want me around.
So life was good.
A couple hours go by. I'm thinking cool she's making it deep. But I'm not going to go watch after the night before.
(the frictional horse wanted to go -- but I vetoed him)
So I'm chilling for about another half an hour in the room, and I hear the door lock open and Lori comes in.
And she's crying. I'm thinking what the heck? There's no crying in poker unless you are Phil Hellmuth. lol
But she was quite upset.
I was concerned of course.
Once she calmed down she told me the story. . .
She did indeed make it deep, and got to the bubble again. Good for her. But this is what got her upset:
4 players left. She has a medium stack, as do the other 3. But the other 3 were all friends, and once she would raise a pot they'd talk out loud about just calling her and checking it down.
Then her stack was getting in pretty bad shape. She kept going all in. Same thing, they'd vocally say call and check her down.
She did mention this to the dealer. but nothing was done -- she thought it was a rookie dealer looking back -- but she mentioned the collusion -- nothing done.
She busts out of course in this situation.
I ask her why she didn't call the floor manager since the dealer wasn't doing anything.
She replies: "That's why you should have been there!"
Welcome to my world!!
True story -- and she's never complained about me watching since

LMAO Do I get extra points by mentioning it happened all in the first 10 minutes? hehehehe
Lori was suprised i took it so well after. For some reason, it just amused me. Who can accomplish that feat?
me
P.S it actually only happened once -- but it was during the same trip as the "Lori situation"
Inexperienced Player Learns a Costly Lesson
Playing a 1/3 NL Holdem game at the HollyWood Casino in Lawrenceburg Indiana, I had a young man sit next to me in seat 9, I was in seat 8. Yesterday was his 21st birthday and this was his very first poker game in a LIVE casino. He asked me question after question about proper live play and proceedures. As the game went on it became a very tight game and I had decided that I would have to show a monster bluff if I ever wanted to get paid off when I made a hand. So I waited until I was the button and I happened to be dealt 72 off. I raised to $12 pre-flop getting 2 callers, the kid, and a tight player in seat 4. The flop came K 10 7. I have bottom pair, hardly anything to be proud of. Everyone checked to me and I bet the pot, $36. The kid called and the tight player in seaqt 4 folded. The turn brought a 3, changes nothing as far as I can tell and the kid checks to me. I bet $48 and he says, do you have pocket Kings..... Now I am thinking, this kid has pocket tens and has flopped a set of tens and won't be able to get away from them. So the river comes another brick, he checks. I have $84 invested in the hand. I know I can't win cause he won't fold, I can see that. So I turn over my hand place my fingertips on my cards and show that I have 7 2 and explain that I was trying to be cute with 7 2. I figure I might as well get credit for the loose play and get something for the money I invested in the play.
The kid starts bouncing in his seat... I can see him bouncing up and down as he says, Good, I have Kings. No sooner had he finished his statement he then proceeds to muck his cards. He was so used to the internet delivering the pot to the best hand on showdown, that he actually forgot to show his cards. The dealer gathered his cards into the muck and I got quiet and pressed a bit harder with my fingertips protecting my cards even more. They just became more valuable..... I knew where this was going. The dealer started pushing me the pot. The kid pops up and says.. "What the #@&* ? I had him beat" To which the dealers proceeded to say. "I'm sorry sir, you don't have any cards"

Bank Error in Ken's favor, collect THE POT! Hey, the kid learned a valuable lesson, he won't make that mistake again. Everyone's gotta pay their dues, his was the value of that pot :D
That actually happened to me once when I started playing live in casinos. Had to be about 7 years ago. It was a 100 player tourney. I made the final table, but I was really short stacked. I was to the right of the dealer. Blinds were pretty high -- so I shoved, and sat back -- even took a sip from my drink.
I didn't have a chip or protector on my hand (didn't think I needed to worry about it) -- dealer wasn't thinking either. She mucked my hand.
I was shocked. And she ended up crying, when the floor manager made the ruling. We knew where my cards were -- but once it touched the muck -- I was screwed.
needless to say -- I always keep a chip on my cards now -- even if all-in.
I've told this story before. But it is probably the highest on the list of my craziest live poker times.. .
I'm not trying to win this (wouldn't hurt though LOL)-- it's just fun talking about. And I like hearing other's stories as well.
So, I'm playing in a small $45/25 people tourney at O'Sheas in Vegas. I think it was the 1am
one.

I made the final table, and things were going well. We got down to 5 players, and i was the big stack.
Then the chop talk started happening.
The shortest stack was a young kid -- and a total a** the whole time. He wanted a 5 person chop. I calmly told him: "No way"
Only 4 places paid, and I was the big stack. screw him.
So he keeps chirping about it, I just ignored him at first and kept saying I'm not taking a deal. At least until we maybe get down to 4. (probably dumb to even consider then when being the big stack -- but it was late, I was a bit tired, and slightly drunk LOL)
He gets all mad, and says: "Wanna take it outside?"
I calmly replied: "No, there's only two results in doing that. One of us in jail, and one of us in the hospital -- and I don't want to go to jail."
The dealer freaked and called the floor manager. He heard the story from the dealer and the manager was going to kick us both out of the tourney.
I chimed up saying I didn't do anything, and the dealer agreed. So I was cautioned.
The kid simmered down -- but did say: "Fine, I'll just take you out then"
I took him out in 2 hands, then I made a 4 way deal -- with me requiring an extra $60. The rest agreed and took the deal.

ronin careful, I heard a guy got killed recently at OShea's.
I'm always careful in Vegas -- won't even let Lori walk about at night without me. Granted, there have been a couple times I almost got into it. But that was just someone being a "Hellmuth" at a poker table.
