Vegas trip. . .
Well I went to go battle. It was nice to be back in Vegas again. We first stayed at Casino Royale.
It was definetely not the Bellagio. But I make do. Next day we move to Imperial, once again it was not the Bellagio --but we made do.
Played in a small tourney at O'Shea's -- about only 20 people --- 55 dollar buy-in for 5000 in chips.
Was the bubble boy.
So the next day, Lori and her aunt went to meet up with some cousins at the Rio. I went too cause I like the pizza there, and help them move their luggage. They were comped a couple days there.
I perfer staying on the Strip -- so does my fictional horse.
So I was meeting the cousins and chilling in the suite. I was planning on going back to play in a small toureny back at O'Sheas -- then I got a call from my sister from here in Michigan.
She was crying. . . the mom landed back in the hospital. (She had been in and out for months now) So I talked and got her calm. The doctors said she'd be fine.
I told Lori that was heading back to the Strip shuttle -- and get in that tourney. She was gonna go have fun with her Aunt and family over at the Rio - and maybe hit the Palms.
So I get back to the Strip, hit the hotel room then head to O'Sheas again -- it was getting late. So it was the 12am game.
The tourney was going well, and I was an early chip leader. I was getting cards, stealing a bit, playing pretty well.
Then close to the first break I noticed Lori. I figured she wanted to jump into the 2am tourney.
So I kept playing to break.
I still was doing well.
Then break came and I and had to pee. . .(only 5 minutes) So Lori found me and wanted me to go up the the stairs there. I joked with her and did the Forest Gump line "I gots to pee"
So I got back after that, And found Lori.
With the look on her face I knew.
My mom died.
She hugged me, and I went back to the poker room to surrender my chips to the dealer.
Then I got to Imperial to hit the phones.
Tried to get an earlier flight. But it was very expensive. My sis and I were in contact the whole time and she took care of the arrangements.
So, I flew the planned red-eye on Friday. Got proper clothes -- then drove into town (I live about 45 minutes away from them)
Services were at 10am, and we got in 6am.
BUt we got through it.
So now I'm at my Dad's place nearby, and have to figure out the estate with my sis.
It's been a trying week -- had moments of fun in Vegas during those times, but it was weird. That's probably not even the correct word.
