in the topic Can the world of online poker chase out the cheats? in the forum Poker News & Media
This case is another example of the 'Me" mentality so many people have. They are impulsive and selfish. They will do whatever it takes to get ahead. They are goal oriented and don't claim any moral compass. In fact many people are proud of their disregard for rules, for human life, etc. he's not the the only one, neither is ZeeJustin, nor is Russ Hamilton. Until the entire poker community ostracizes them, they won't change. And because the very essence of poker is the acquisition of money,m there will always be cheaters and those who gravitate toward the cheaters in the hopes that money will come their way.

Look at street gangsters; why do they exist? Easy money...or easier than flipping burgers, money, at least. Greed.Iit explains all of these behaviors.

Damn, Anthony, all that money I just wasted in my ca$hCamp. That's the thing about poker; one set of people tell you one thing, another set of people tell you another. I guess the real truth on how to play is play in the manner that makes you either the most comfortable or the least uncomfortable. I spent the last 20 hours learning all this stuff and your comments are nearly completely different from what my instructors taught: Todd Brunson, Rick Fuller, Nick Brancato, Nick Binger.

When you quoted my reply, you failed to note that I began my reply by mentioning one can kill the monster by forcing the opponent to make the call with improper odds. However when you brought it up, it appeared as though I hadn't said it, at all. And, no, they taught that a single pair is merely a bluff buster when facing continued bets by maniacs, and strong players unless you have reasons to think the maniac is betting with air.

Oh, well, I got the message loud and clear. I'll just continue to read instead of post.

    Nikki,
Here is one way to try and ensure that the monster isn't there. You have a premium hand. Protect it preflop by betting enough so that the chasers SHOULDN'T call. If they do, at least you can know they were wrong when they did so. However, if you bet too much you'll be giving the pot odds to call, so you have to find just that right amount to make them unwilling to call.

OK, so maybe you've called the Monster's preflop raise. Before calling his raise, ask yourself this: "Do I know enough about how this Monster (opponent) plays such that I can put them on a range of hands?" If so, does your holding beat his range? If so, then call, if not, then don't call. If you can't put him on a range because you haven't seen enough play by him, invest in Poker Tracker 3 and look up the stats on various players online. That should give you some info as to how he plays.

In other instances, look at the Monster's position; if he's in late position, his range is quite wide if it has been folded around to him. If he's in early position, you can probably narrow down his range to premium hands or real close to premium hands. If he's a maniac, then you tighten up your range such that you don't go to showdown with a single pair (even top pr, top kicker).
    I hope this helps.

Vendetta, I agree with your post; thanks for putting into words what I feel, too. I'm really working on killing the anger I feel when I play correctly and lose
